Affirm God's Good Plan      Gen.1:1,26-28,31; 2:15-18,21-25      Dec. 02, 2007

Those who want to discredit the Bible and the facts about God work try to refute God's plan of creation.  In my opinion it makes good sense to start with our God, rather than no God at all. We can not explain many things about God and His plan of creation but I am comfortable leaving what I do not know with what I do know about God. When I watch the life of one who lives for God and believes He created this universe; I see reasons to Affirm God's Good Plan.

1.    Affirm God's Plan For Creation's . . Environment.   1:1

A. Affirm the . . Singularity Of The Created Environment. 1:1a
" In the beginning God created. . ."

 B. Affirm the . . Serenity Of The Created Environment. 1:1a
". . the heavens and the earth."

Some prominent people speak regularly about the environment. I believe we need to be concerned about our environment but I am not of the opinion that God will allow us to completely destroy it. He created it and He is in control; that does not mean His people should not be good stewards of our land, and resources. God created the environment single handed. I like the way John's Gospel tells us, "apart from Him not one thing was created that has been created. (John 1:3 HCSB). He created all we see with a wonderful kind of serenity. What an awesome experience it is to behold the wonders of His creation.

2.    Affirm God's Plan For . . Everything Created. 1:26-28,31

A. Everything Created Including The . . Design Of Animal Life. 1:26-27
26 Then God said, "Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness. They will rule the fish of the sea, the birds of the sky, the animals, all the earth, and the creatures that crawl on the earth." 27 So God created man in His own image; He created him in the image of God; He created them male and female.

 B. Everything Created Including The . . Dominion Animal Life. 1:28, 31
28 God blessed them, and God said to them, "Be fruitful, multiply, fill the earth, and subdue it. Rule the fish of the sea, the birds of the sky, and every creature that crawls on the earth." 31 God saw all that He had made, and it was very good. Evening came, and then morning: the sixth day.

In verses 26 and 27 we receive a summary of God's design for all of animal life; while more details are given in the second chapter. God placed fish, fowl, and lower animal life on earth before He created mankind. God blessed mankind and told them to have dominion over the other forms of life. In summary He saw His creation as very good, and He did all of this in six days. We certainly should learn from this about our work days.

3.    Affirm God's Plan For The . . Essentials Of Creation. 2:15-18

A.    Essentials Of Creation Including The . . Work For Mankind. 2:15

15 The LORD God took the man and placed him in the garden of Eden to work it and watch over it.

B. Essentials Of Creation Including The . . Wisdom For Man. 2:16-17
16 And the LORD God commanded the man, "You are free to eat from any tree of the garden, 17 but you must not eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, for on the day you eat from it, you will certainly die."

C. Essentials Of Creation Including A . . Woman For Mankind. 2:18
18 Then the LORD God said, "It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make a helper who is like him."

In His creation God created work. Have you noticed how meaningful a man's life becomes if he works at an occupation with a fulfilling purpose? In contrast notice a man who does not work simply because of his laziness. All of us should work with a sense of fulfill God's plan. In the wisdom of God He created a need for obedience. His creation needed to act faithfully to His commands. This is not punishment, or withholding something good but the wise instruction of a loving Father. Death came upon all mankind because Eve and Adam were disobedient God created man first but woman was not far behind on the day of creation.

4.    Affirm God's Plan For The . . Expansion Of His Creation. 2:21-23

A.    Expansion Of Creation Including Man's . . Counterpart For Expansion. 2:21-23

21 So the LORD God caused a deep sleep to come over the man, and he slept. God took one of his ribs and closed the flesh at that place. 22 Then the LORD God made the rib He had taken from the man into a woman and brought her to the man. 23 And the man said: This one, at last, is bone of my bone, and flesh of my flesh; this one will be called woman, for she was taken from man.

B.    Expansion Of Creation Including Man's. . Cleaving For Expansion. 2:24-25
24 This is why a man leaves his father and mother and bonds with his wife, and they
become one flesh. 25 Both the man and his wife were naked, yet felt no shame. HCSB

Obviously God could have created woman from the dust of the ground just like He did man, but He chose to use a portion of man to create his counterpart. She is as Adam said, "bone of my bone, and flesh of my flesh." God's word says us a man will cleave or bond with his wife. God gives us the privilege to work so we will Affirm God's Good Plan. Amen? Amen!
