An Answer To The False Doctrine Commonly Called Jesus Only.

I got the idea from a sermon I saw and have changed it and added to it.

2. WITHOUT THE TRINITY He begat Himself.

JOH 3:16 "For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish, but have eternal life.

3. WITHOUT THE TRINITY He prayed to Himself and thanked Himself for giving the answer.

JOH 11:41 And so they removed the stone. And Jesus raised His eyes, and said, "Father, I thank Thee that Thou heardest Me.

4. WITHOUT THE TRINITY He had to go away in order to send Himself back.

JOH 16:7 "But I tell you the truth, it is to your advantage that I go away; for if I do not go away, the Helper shall not come to you; but if I go, I will send Him to you.

5. WITHOUT THE TRINITY Jesus promised that as His own Father He would give Himself under a different name to them.

LUK 11:13 "If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more shall {your} heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him?"

6. WITHOUT THE TRINITY Jesus said He was greater than Himself.

JOH 10:29 "My Father, who has given {them} to Me, is greater than all; and no one is able to snatch {them} out of the Father's hand.

7. WITHOUT THE TRINITY Jesus as His own Father loved Himself.

JOH 10:17 "For this reason the Father loves Me, because I lay down My life that I may take it again.

8. WITHOUT THE TRINITY He gave Himself a commandment which He obeyed.

JOH 10:18 "No one has taken it away from Me, but I lay it down on My own initiative. I have authority to lay it down, and I have authority to take it up. This commandment I received from My Father."

9. WITHOUT THE TRINITY Jesus is the way to Himself.

JOH 14:6 Jesus *said to him, "I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father, but through Me.

10. WITHOUT THE TRINITY Jesus anointed Himself with Himself and accompanied Himself on earth.

ACT 10:38 "{You know of} Jesus of Nazareth, how God anointed Him with the Holy Spirit and with power, and {how} He went about doing good, and healing all who were oppressed by the devil; for God was with Him.

11. WITHOUT THE TRINITY in the same breath Jesus said blasphemy against Him would be forgiven and that it would not be forgiven.

LUK 12:10 "And everyone who will speak a word against the Son of Man, it shall be forgiven him; but he who blasphemes against the Holy Spirit, it shall not be forgiven him.

12. WITHOUT THE TRINITY His will disagreed with itself in the Garden of Gethsemane until He submitted His will on earth to His will in heaven.

LUK 22:42 saying, "Father, if Thou art willing, remove this cup from Me; yet not My will, but Thine be done."

13. WITHOUT THE TRINITY Christ prayed to Himself to forgive those who crucified Him.

LUK 23:34 But Jesus was saying, "Father, forgive them; for they do not know what they are doing." And they cast lots, dividing up His garments among themselves.

14. WITHOUT THE TRINITY He forsook Himself on Calvary's cross.

MAT 27:46 And about the ninth hour Jesus cried out with a loud voice, saying, "\Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani\?" that is, "\My God, My God, why hast Thou forsaken Me\?"

15. WITHOUT THE TRINITY On the cross He committed His spirit unto His own hands.

LUK 23:46 And Jesus, crying out with a loud voice, said, "Father, \into Thy hands I commit My spirit.\" And having said this, He breathed His last.

16. WITHOUT THE TRINITY Jesus left this earth and went to meet Himself.

JOH 16:28 "I came forth from the Father, and have come into the world; I am leaving the world again, and going to the Father."

17. WITHOUT THE TRINITY Jesus sat down on His own right hand.

MAR 14:62 And Jesus said, "I am; and you shall see \the Son of Man sitting at the right hand of Power\, and \coming with the clouds of heaven\."

COL 3:1 If then you have been raised up with Christ, keep seeking the things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God.

HEB 1:3 And He is the radiance of His glory and the exact representation of His nature, and upholds all things by the word of His power. When He had made purification of sins, He sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high;

HEB 12:2 fixing our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of faith, who for the joy set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.

18. WITHOUT THE TRINITY Jesus gave Himself all power in heaven and in earth.

MAT 28:18 And Jesus came up and spoke to them, saying, "All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth.

19. WITHOUT THE TRINITY Jesus is both judge and lawgiver pleading our cause with Himself.

1JO 2:1 My little children, I am writing these things to you that you may not sin. And if anyone sins, we have an Advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous;

1TI 2:5 For there is one God, {and} one mediator also between God and men, {the} man Christ Jesus,

HEB 8:6 But now He has obtained a more excellent ministry, by as much as He is also the mediator of a better covenant, which has been enacted on better promises.

HEB 12:24 and to Jesus, the mediator of a new covenant, and to the sprinkled blood, which speaks better than {the blood} of Abel.

20. WITHOUT THE TRINITY Jesus required His own death on the cross in order to satisfy Himself and reconcile a lost world to Himself by working in Himself.

2CO 5:18 Now all {these} things are from God, who reconciled us to Himself through Christ, and gave us the ministry of reconciliation,

2CO 5:19 namely, that God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself, not counting their trespasses against them, and He has committed to us the word of reconciliation.

The above scriptures clearly teach the doctrine of the Trinity.

NOTE these additional thoughts and verses:

1. The Baptism of Jesus. The Father speaks, the Spirit descends and Jesus is baptized.

LUK 3:21-22 Now it came about when all the people were baptized, that Jesus also was baptized, and while He was praying, heaven was opened, 22 and the Holy Spirit descended upon Him in bodily form like a dove, and a voice came out of heaven, "Thou art My beloved Son, in Thee I am well-pleased."

2. The baptismal formula for the church.

MAT 28:19 "Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit,

3. The benediction given by Paul.

2CO 13:14 The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit, be with you all.

4. Paul's urging in prayer.

ROM 15:30 Now I urge you, brethren, by our Lord Jesus Christ and by the love of the Spirit, to strive together with me in your prayers to God for me,
