DO ANGELS EVER GET TIME OFF?

Note to those interested in using this sermon idea.  You will need as always to
be led of the Lord.  I think you need to give a dramatic flare to this message.
When you come to poins 11 and 12;   I suggest you sit down where you can be seen.
Pretend you are the angel sitting down to watch the resurrection of Jesus.
One friend said he believed the angel sat down and said
"I can't wait to see all heaven break loose."  Amen?   Amen!

INTRODUCTION:
During the Easter season many people get time off. Do angels ever get time off ? I want to evaluate that question. We will look at several verses where angels are mentioned.
 
 

1.    Angels Announced The Birth of Jesus - - No Time Off


Luke 2:9-10 9 And behold, an angel of the Lord stood before them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were greatly afraid. 10 Then the angel said to them, "Do not be afraid, for behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy which will be to all people. NKJV
 
 

2.    Angels Warned Joseph to Flee to Egypt - - No Time Off


Matt 2:13 13 Now when they had departed, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared to Joseph in a
dream, saying, "Arise, take the young Child and His mother, flee to Egypt, and stay there until I
bring you word; for Herod will seek the young Child to destroy Him." NKJV
 
 

3.    Angels Told Joseph When to Return - - No Time Off


Matt 2:19 But when Herod was dead, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared in a dream to Joseph
in Egypt, NKJV
 
 

4.    Angels Guarded Jesus - - No Time Off


Matt 4:6 and said to Him, "If You are the Son of God, throw Yourself down. For it is written: 'He shall give His angels charge over you,' and, 'In their hands they shall bear you up, Lest you dash
your foot against a stone.' " NKJV
 
 

5.    Angels Ministered After The Temptation - - No Time Off


Matt 4:11 Then the devil left Him, and behold, angels came and ministered to Him. NKJV
 
 

6.    Angels Are Given to Guard Us - - No Time Off


Matt 18:10 "Take heed that you do not despise one of these little ones, for I say to you that in heaven their angels always see the face of My Father who is in heaven. NKJV
 
 

7.    Angels Were Involved in His Ministry - - No Time off


John 1:51 and He said to him, "Most assuredly, I say to you, hereafter you shall see heaven open, and the angels of God ascending and descending upon the Son of Man." NKJV
 
 

8.    Angels Ministered for A Time in the Garden - - No Time off


Luke 22:43 Then an angel appeared to Him from heaven, strengthening Him. NKJV
 
 

9.    Angels Were Not Called To Fight in the Garden - - Some Time Off!


Matt 26:53 Or do you think that I cannot now pray to My Father, and He will provide Me with more than twelve legions of angels? NKJV
 
 

10.    Angels Left Jesus Alone On The Cross - - Some Time Off!


Matt 27:46 And about the ninth hour Jesus cried out with a loud voice, saying, "Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani?" that is, "My God, My God, why have You forsaken Me?" NKJV
 
 

11.    An Angel Rolled Back the Stone and Sat upon it - - Some Time Off!


Matt 28:2 2 And behold, there was a great earthquake; for an angel of the Lord descended from heaven, and came and rolled back the stone from the door, and sat on it. NKJV
 
 

12.    Angels Sat on the Slab Where Jesus Body Had Laid - - Some Time Off!


John 20:12 And she saw two angels in white sitting, one at the head and the other at the feet, where the body of Jesus had lain. NKJV
 
 

13.    Angels Will Gather God's Elect at the End Time - - No Time Off!


Matt 24:31 And He will send His angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they will gather together His elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other. NKJV
 
 

14.    Angels at the Death of God's Children - - No Time off


Luke 16:22 So it was that the beggar died, and was carried by the angels to Abraham's bosom. The rich man also died and was buried. NKJV
