<>The Real Hallelujah Chorus
<>Rev 19:1-6

NKJV 1 After these things I heard a loud voice of a great multitude in heaven, saying, "Alleluia! Salvation and glory and honor and power belong to the Lord our God! 2 For true and righteous are His judgments, because He has judged the great harlot who corrupted the earth with her fornication; and He has avenged on her the blood of His servants shed by her." 3 Again they said, "Alleluia! Her smoke rises up forever and ever!" 4 And the twenty-four elders and the four living creatures fell down and worshiped God who sat on the throne, saying, "Amen! Alleluia!" 5 Then a voice came from the throne, saying, "Praise our God, all you His servants and those who fear Him, both small and great!" 6 And I heard, as it were, the voice of a great multitude, as the sound of many waters and as the sound of mighty thunderings, saying, "Alleluia! For the Lord God Omnipotent reigns! NKJV

Salvation and glory and power belong to our God; 2 because His judgments are true and righteous; for He has judged the great harlot who was corrupting the earth with her immorality, and He has avenged the blood of His bond-servants on her." 3 And a second time they said, "Hallelujah! Her smoke rises up forever and ever." 4 And the twenty-four elders and the four living creatures fell down and worshiped God who sits on the throne saying, "Amen. Hallelujah!" 5 And a voice came from the throne, saying, "Give praise to our God, all you His bond-servants, you who fear Him, the small and the great." 6 And I heard, as it were, the voice of a great multitude and as the sound of many waters and as the sound of mighty peals of thunder, saying, "Hallelujah! For the Lord our God, the Almighty, reigns. (NAS)

<>Introduction
The word Hallelujah appears in the new Testament. How many times do you think the word Hallelujah occurs in the New Testament? Where do you think it is first found?

I personally was surprise to discover the word hallelujah appears only 4 times in the New Testament. I am amazed to find the word is first used in the 19th chapter of the book of the Revelation. The word appears 4 times; all in the text for this sermon.

Avenge = Greek has the idea; to show what is right

the throne, saying, "Amen! Alleluia!"

1. They fell down in Worship.

a. Is that Necessary?

(1) No but it just came naturally.

B. Authority Shown In God's . . Position. v 4 b

". . . God who sat on the throne, saying, "Amen! Alleluia!"

1. He is still on His Throne.

I don't quote Oral Roberts very often but he said on one occasion he had a great step of faith and he

was anxious about it, His nerves were on edge. He said "at that time I heard the voice of God say "I

am not nervous about it.'"

Application My daughter Teri and and Son in law Kevin are moving this week to

Marbel Hill Missouri. They are to start next Sunday. Kevin will be the Minister of Music and teach music in the Christian School. At this moment they do not have a home to live in. But that is for God to work out.

5 Then a voice came from the throne, saying, "Praise our God, all you His servants and those who fear Him, both small and great!"

6 And I heard, as it were, the voice of a great multitude, as the sound of many waters and as the sound of mighty thunderings, saying, "Alleluia! For the Lord God Omnipotent reigns!

Writing in The Sunday School Times many years ago, Newman Hall told about a Christian friend who was invited to debate publicly with some men who had no use for the Lord or the church. The believer said, "When you can find me twelve families who were once Christians but by embracing your views have become more virtuous, useful, contented, and happy, I will think it worthwhile to argue with you, and not before."

Then he said, "I can find you one hundred families who were once living only for this present world, but who because of Christ have become better husbands and wives, better parents, and children. They are more virtuous, and sober, and happy."

Hall concluded, "Yes, let religion be tested by its purifying power."
