A STUDY ABOUT THE ANTICHRIST

Rev 6:1-2 KJV
1     And I saw when the Lamb opened one of the seals, and I heard, as it were the noise of thunder, one of the four beasts saying, Come and see.  2     And I saw, and behold a white horse: and he that sat on him had a bow; and a crown was given unto him: and he went forth conquering, and to conquer.

If this is not Antichrist, then we do not have him mentioned in Revelation before the middle of the week(Rev. 13). . . . If we do not take the one in Daniel and the one here as being identical, then we can know nothing regarding the identity of the white horse rider.

The subject of the Antichrist has been discussed for years. It was discussed in the New Testament by Jesus and John.

Martin Luther wrote about it and stated in his writings that the pope was the Antichrist. Very few people agree with Martin Luther today but I use him to Illustrate how long the subject of Antichrist has been discussed.
 

A.     That is the only option open to a believer in any generation. The Lord may come today.
 
 

A.    Jesus told them. Matt 24:5 (NAS)
        5 "For many will come in My name, saying, `I am the Christ,' and will mislead many.

Matt 24:15-16 15     "Therefore when you see the abomination of desolation which was spoken of through Daniel the prophet, standing in the holy place (let the reader understand),
16     then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains;

Matt 24: 23-24 23     "Then if anyone says to you, 'Behold, here is the Christ,' or 'There {He (is,'} do not believe {him.}  24     "For false Christs and false prophets will arise and will show great signs and wonders, so as to mislead, if possible, even the elect.  25     "Behold, I have told you in advance.

John 5:43  "I have come in My Father's name, and you do not receive Me; if another shall come in his own name, you will receive him. (NAS)
 
 

A.    He will be the seed of Satan.
        Gen 3:15 And I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your seed and her seed; He shall bruise you on the head, and you shall bruise him on the heel." (NAS)
 
 

A.    The term can apply to anyone who is anti Christ.
        II Jn 1:7  For many deceivers have gone out into the world, those who do not acknowledge Jesus Christ {as} coming in the flesh. This is the deceiver and the Antichrist.(NAS
 
 

A.    Man of Sin (Lawlessness) 2 Th 2:3; Dan 7:25
        2 Thes 2:3 Let no one in any way deceive you, for {it will not come} unless the apostasy comes first, and the man of lawlessness is revealed, the son of destruction,

Dan 7:25     'And he will speak out against the Most High and wear down the saints of the Highest One, and he will intend to make alterations in times and in law; and they will be given into his hand for a time, times, and half a time.

B.     Son of Perdition (Destruction) 2 Th 2:3
            2 Thes 2:3 Let no one in any way deceive you, for {it will not come} unless the apostasy comes first, and the man of lawlessness is revealed, the son of destruction,
 
C.    That Wicked (Lawless One) 2 Th 2:8
        8 And then that lawless one will be revealed whom the Lord will slay with the breath of His mouth and bring to an end by the appearance of His coming;

D.    The Beast Rev 13:1-3
        3 And {I saw} one of his heads as if it had been slain, and his fatal wound was healed. And the whole earth was amazed {and followed} after the beast;
 
 

B.    Deception Through Religion. 2 Thes 2:4
        4    who opposes and exalts himself above every so-called god or object of worship, so that he takes his seat in the temple of God, displaying himself as being God.

C.    Deception through Drugs. Rev 18:23
        23    and the light of a lamp will not shine in you any longer; and the voice of the bridegroom and bride will not be heard in you any longer; for your merchants were the great men of the earth, because all the nations were deceived by your sorcery.

D.    Deception Through Terror. Rev 13:4
        4    and they worshiped the dragon, because he gave his authority to the beast; and they worshiped the beast, saying, "Who is like the beast, and who is able to wage war with him?"
 
 

2 Thes 2:4  who opposes and exalts himself above every so-called god or object of worship, so that he takes his seat in the temple of God, displaying himself as being God.
 
 

Evolution.    There is no real evidence that God exists. The universe is the result of chance. Life forms gradually emerged over millions of years.

Situation ethics.    Man is the final authority for his own actions. There are no absolute rules.

Moral freedom.    Everyone (including children of any age) should be exposed to all viewpoints that are "realistic," including profanity, immorality, and perversion--all seen as acceptable methods of self expression. The Christian gospel is not realistic, so has no place in the system.

Sexual permissiveness.    All forms of sexual expression are acceptable and should be taught in schools free from biblical bias.

Anti-religious bias.    Religion is harmful. It is either meaningless or irrelevant to the question of the survival and fulfillment of the human race.

One world government.    "Global citizenship" should replace national determination. There should be a system of world law, enforced by an international police force transcending national federal government.

Death education.    There is no life beyond the grave. Euthanasia should be employed and suicide endorsed as acceptable ways to terminate life.

Human destiny.    Man should take charge of his own future and realize that he has within himself the power to achieve the world of his dreams.
