A Message from Heaven
Rev 11:14-19
1. The . . Telling of the Message from Heaven.
A. Telling About the . . Kingdom. v 14-15 a
14 The second woe is past. Behold, the third woe
is coming quickly. 15 Then the seventh angel sounded: And there were loud
voices in heaven, saying, "The kingdoms of this world have become the kingdoms
of our Lord . . ."
B. Telling About the . . King. v 15 b
". . . and of His Christ, and He shall reign forever
and ever!"
Illustration
For centuries men believed the theories of astronomy as propounded
by Greek philosophers. The writings of Aristotle and Ptolemy were scientific
gospels, and to challenge them was the worst of heresies. Men were expected
to believe without debate that the earth was the center of the universe,
for example, and that the heavenly bodies moved in perfect circles. Ingenious
theories were invented to explain the seeming retrograde motion of Mars,
the alternation of day and night on earth, and various inconsistencies
not accounted for by the astronomy of the Greeks. But astronomy was in
a hopeless muddle. Men simply did not have the key for they ignored the
centrality of the sun.
Then came Nicholas Copernicus and Johannes Kepler. The sun was put in its proper place as the center of the solar system. It was established that the earth and the planets revolve around the sun and that the true path of the planets is an ellipse, not a circle Then everything fell into place. Copernicus and his followers won lasting fame simply by giving the sun its rightful place.
Application
You and I need to make sure we have the SON as the Central Figure of
our life and world.

16 And the twenty-four elders who sat before God
on their thrones fell on their faces and worshiped God, 17 saying: "We
give You thanks, O Lord God Almighty, The One who is and who was and who
is to come, Because You have taken Your great power and reigned.

from Heaven. v 18-19
18 The nations were angry, and Your wrath has come,
And the time of the dead, that they should be judged, And that You should
reward Your servants the prophets and the saints, And those who fear Your
name, small and great, And should destroy those who destroy the earth."
19 Then the temple of God was opened in heaven, and the ark of His covenant
was seen in His temple. And there were lightnings, noises, thunderings,
an earthquake, and great hail.
