Value All Human Life       Gen. 1:26-27; Exo.1:15-17; Ps. 139:13-16; Mark 10:13-16       Jan. 20:2013

Introduction

Have you ever seen, even a picture of the results of an abortion placed in a plastic bag and taken to a trash can? I would think most people would turn their head in unbelief. The text of this lesson encourages the sanctity of life.

1.   Affirm the Value of All Human Life. Gen. 1:26-27

       A.   Affirm the Value of All Human Life because God . . Chose to Created It. v 26

26 Then God said, Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness. They will rule the fish of the

sea, the birds of the sky, the livestock, all the earth, and the creatures that crawl on the earth.

       B.   Affirm the Value of All Human Life because God Designed the . . Creation of It. v 27

27 So God created man in His own image; He created him in the image of God; He created them male and female.

The fact that human life exists is true because God chose to create it. Why did God chose to create us. I am sure on several occasions we all have asked that question. David the Shepherd boy who became King David asked the question this way, “"When I consider your heavens, the work of your fingers … what is man that you are mindful of him.. . .” Why God created us is really a mystery. Deliberately doing away with life is a sinful act and even though it can be forgiven our nation needs to remove the legality of it.

2.   Approve and Respect the Value of All Human Life. Exo. 1:15-17

       A.   Affirm the Value of All Human Life . . Obey God not Man. v 15-16

15 Then the king of Egypt said to the Hebrew midwives, one of whom was named Shiphrah and the

       other Puah,

16 When you help the Hebrew women give birth, observe them as they deliver. If the child is a son, kill

him, but if its a daughter, she may live.

       B.   Affirm the Value of All Human Live . . Oppose the King. v 17

17 The Hebrew midwives, however, feared God and did not do as the king of Egypt had told them; they let

       the boys live.

I have talked to many women who were told to abort their babies for one reason or another. They chose to

obey God and gave birth to a healthy baby. It had to be a horrible thing to kill an innocent and healthy little boy back in these days. It is great the mid-wives refused to do this because they honored God and His Word. It would be great to have more people like these ladies. Today many will vote for someone who will not stand like they believe simply because their loyalty is to some political party. When we vote politically rather than Biblically we make it more difficult for the nation to move back toward biblical righteousness.

3.   Adore and Celebrate the Value of All Human Life. Psa. 139:13-16

       A.   Affirm the Value of All Human Life Because We Were. . Wonderfully Made. v 13-14

13 For it was You who created my inward parts; You knit me together in my mothers womb.
14 I will praise You because I have been remarkably and wonderfully made. Your works are wonderful,

       and I know thisvery well.

       B.   Affirm the Value of All Human Life Because We Were. . Written in God’s Book. v 15-16

15 My bones were not hidden from You when I was made in secret, when I was formed in the depths

       of the earth.

16 Your eyes saw me when I was formless; all mydays were written in Your book and planned before a

       single one of them began.

When we analyze life especially in a little baby we must admit they are wonderfully made. We can see traits of the mother or father in this small baby and become amazed at how God caused it to be so. Truly the work of God is miraculous. What does it mean that we were written in God’s book? It certainly includes in its meaning that God is not surprised at how we turned our and what we will accomplish. In recent years we have been able to look at an unborn baby through an ultra sound picture. That is seeing what God was able to see from the beginning.

4.   Adhere to and Follow Jesus’ Example of Valuing All Human Life. Mark 10:13-16

       A.   Affirm the Value of All Human Life . . Belonging to God. v 13-14

13 Some people were bringing little children to Him so He might touch them, but His disciples

       rebuked them.
14 When Jesus saw it, He was indignant and said to them, Let the little children come to Me. Dont stop

them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these.

       B.   Affirm the Value of All Human Life Being . . Blessed by the Lord. v 15-16

15 I assure you: Whoever does not welcome the kingdom of God like a little child will never enter it.
16 After taking them in His arms, He laid His hands on them and blessed them.

Jesus said the kingdom of heaven belongs to small children. Why? Included would be these qualities

they are humble, receptive, dependent on others. Children will normally be trusting and willing to learn and follow the leadership of their parents. No one comes into the kingdom of God without those qualities. This lesson is for Sanctity of Life Sunday we certainly need to Value All Human Life. Amen? Amen!
